Robert William Schlienz

June 18, 1943 - March 23, 2022

Robert (Bob) William Schlienz of Fort Myers, Florida, and Columbus, Indiana, passed away on March 23, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. Bob was born on June 18, 1943, To Gertrude Bertha and Ralph William Schlienz in Queens, New York. The family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where Bob graduated from North Central High School. He had two sons, Alan William and Kenneth Paul Schlienz. Bob worked in retail management eventually retiring from Kroger. In 2014, Bob and his life partner, Lorna Miller, moved part-time to Fort Myers, Florida where he loved spending time at the beach. For the past 12 years, Bob and Lorna have enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his life partner, Lorna Miller; his sons, Alan William and Kenneth Paul Schlienz; grandchildren, Brittany Schlienz, Chelsea Condra, Zachary Blake, and Brianna Schlienz; great-grandchildren, Kaedyn Pullin, and Griffen Condra; his brother, Paul (Janet) Richard Schlienz, and his sisters, Catherine Saladino, and Nancy (James) Mansfield. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, George Saladino. Bob will be missed by all for his wonderful sense of humor. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home on Saturday, April 23. Calling hours are from 1 pm - 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital.
