Norma G. Redding, 96, of Columbus, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Hope. Norma was born in Saltair, OH on October 25, 1924 to John Willie Lewis and Hazel Laverna Parker Lewis. Norma lived most of her life in Indianapolis and worked at Fort Benjamin Harrison in the Finance Center. She relocated to Columbus in 1996 to be closer to family. She was a foster grandparent for the FFY, enjoying helping the students with their homework (especially math). She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Calling hours will be from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with a private family funeral service to follow with Marvin Donaldson officiating. Burial will be held at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Nina Sue (Dennis) Daniel-Baute of Columbus, IN; a son, Larry Martin Byers of Indianapolis; IN; sisters, Nell L. Baughman of Cincinnati, OH and Betty Marie (Marvin) Donaldson of Meridian, ID; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a faithful, loving, Pomeranian named Lady. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, John Willie Lewis and Hazel Laverna Lewis; husbands, I. Larry Byers and Kenneth L. Redding. We do ask visitors to follow social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required.
