Marvin D. Soliday

March 26, 1951 - March 1, 2022

Marvin D. Soliday, 70, of Columbus, passed away March 1, 2022, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Marvin was born March 26, 1951 in Salem, Indiana, the son of Floyd and Carolyn Brough Soliday. He married Gloria Hoskins on February 22, 1975. Marvin was a 1969 graduate of Eastern Pekin High School, and was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Mediterranean during the Vietnam Conflict on the U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt aircraft carrier as a Boiler Technician. He was employed at Cummins Engine Company, retiring in 1999 after 30 years of service. Marvin was a member of Lakeview Church of Christ and enjoyed bowling. Marvin is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gloria; his parents Floyd and Carolyn Soliday of Pekin, Indiana; sons Jeremy D. Soliday and Cody A. Soliday, both of Columbus; grandchildren Devin (Marissa) Soliday, Caleb Soliday, and Kassi Soliday; a brother Mike (Maryann) Soliday of Salem; as well as a sister Lori (Mark) Hein of Pekin, Indiana. He was preceded in death by a son Chad E. Soliday. A private family service will take place at a later date. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
