Marguerite Lydia Meyer

Marguerite Lydia Meyer, 91, of Columbus, passed away January 27, 2022 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Marguerite was born January 31, 1930 in Jackson County, the daughter of Theodore and Hazel Vornholt Meyer. She was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church Whitecreek where she was a longtime member of Ladies’ Aid. Throughout her career, Marguerite worked as a bookkeeper at multiple retail businesses. She enjoyed her numerous family contacts, and appreciated their place in her life. Marguerite was always attending numerous gatherings and events in support of her family members. She was an avid quilter, and enjoyed needlework. While an active member of her home economics club, Marguerite often submitted exhibits for the local fair. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 2, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church Whitecreek with Pastor Matthew Jung officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday. Burial will be at St. John’s Whitecreek Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church Whitecreek. Marguerite is survived by nieces and nephews Glen Meyer, Michael Meyer, Steve Meyer, Terry Meyer, Barbara Lewis, and Wayne Meyer; as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as brothers Herbert and Harold Meyer.
