Linda Gail Grammer

December 5, 1952 - February 20, 2022

Linda Gail Grammer, 69, of Elizabethtown, went to be with the Lord at 9:27 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born December 5, 1952 in Harlan, Kentucky to the late John C. and Mildred Jean (Stewart) Jackson. She married Charles Ray Grammer on October 2, 1974 at the Elizabethtown United Methodist Church and he survives. Linda was a member of both the Pleasant View and Elizabethtown United Methodist Churches. She dearly loved her family and her life was devoted to children. She was a long-time supporter of the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday February 24, 2022 at the Elizabethtown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry McIntosh officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in the Sand Creek Friends Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Linda to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Linda is survived by her husband, Charles Ray Grammer, son, Chris (Angie) Grammer of North Vernon; daughters, Tammy (Mark) Ashcroft of Columbus and Katrina Grammer of New Castle; brother, John C. Jackson of Columbus; sisters, Rosalind (Richard) Koscher of Fort Wayne and Terry (Charles) Jackson Lee Smith; grandchildren, Joshua (Anna) Knight, John Boatwright, James Boatwright, Sierra (David) Franks, Shelby (Justin) Grammer, Austin Grammer, Peyton Shepler, Addison Shepler, Aiden Shepler, Mark Ashcroft, Jr., Wayne (Allison) Ashcroft, Devin Ashcroft, Anthony Ashcroft, Savanah Ashcroft and Andrew Ashcroft; great grandchildren, Paisley Mae Grammer, Lillian Nicole Ashcroft and babies Franks and Righthouse on the way. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles Ralph Grammer, sisters, Jean Alice Bentley, Rita Rae Bentley and brothers in law, Jimmy Lee and Clayton Bentley.
