Harvey Ryman Baker, 80, of Shelbyville, passed away at 12:51 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2021 at his home. Harvey was born in Indianapolis on April 24, 1940 to Chris Baker and Alice Decker Baker. He married Beverly Tindle on July 2, 1994. Harvey was a hard worker and retired from two places of employment. He retired from Day & Night Manufacturing after 29 years of service and then from Kehein in Greenfield after 27 years. He was affiliated with Revival Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Clifford. He loved music, movies, cooking and classic cars. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Eli Johnson officiating. Calling will be from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Baker; children, Wanda Baker and Christine (Jim White) Elkins; step-children, Lisa (John) McFarland and Chris (Sally) LeBrun; a brother, Roy Brickert; sisters, Rosalyn (Ron) St. John, Robin (Mark) Yaklin, Ella Popiel and Jane (Charles) Breeding; grandchildren, Jason Camp, Ryman Camp, Kristin Compton, Brooke Busack and 8 great-grandchildren. Harvey was preceded in death by his father, Chris Baker; mother, Alice Dody and a brother, James Baker.
