Carolyn M. Mahoney

Carolyn M. Mahoney, 87, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at her home. Carolyn was born in Jackson County, IN February 4, 1934 a daughter of the late Homer and Celia (Schrader) Carpenter. She married William Mahoney June 17, 1961. He preceded her in death on December 16, 2009. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church enjoying the women’s bible study fellowship. She spent time at the Mill Race Center where she often played bridge. Carolyn was an outstanding cook who relished spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving, to miss her smiles, hugs, laugh, and chocolate chip cookies, are her sons, William (Melissa) Mahoney of Columbus; and Sean Eric Mahoney of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Meryn (Jon) Rathert of Columbus; Patrick (Rebecca Ludwig) Mahoney of Columbus; Sean (Kevin Fanshawe) Mahoney of Brooklyn, NY; and Luca Mahoney of Denver, CO; sisters, Imogene Campbell of Columbus; Edna Mae Carpenter of Seymour; and Donna Bottoff of Columbus. She was preceded in death by sister, Pauline Bowman; and brothers, Donald Carpenter; and Richard Carpenter. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 AM Saturday, February 5, 2022 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church 1306 27th Street Columbus. Visitation is 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, February 4, 2022 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home 3855 25th Street with recitation of the rosary beginning at 7:00 PM.
