Barbara J. Hedrick

July 7, 1942 - February 12, 2022

Barbara J. Hedrick, 79, of Columbus, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at her home. Barbara was born on July 17, 1942 in Indianapolis to Robert Eugene Golob and Winnifred Alice Gault Golob. She married Charles Hedrick in October of 1959. Barbara enjoyed being a homemaker and retired as a Registered Nurse and Pastor with United Methodist Church. Upon retirement she continued giving back to the church in various capacities. She was a member of Petersville United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. In her spare time, she enjoyed volunteering at Clifty Creek Elementary School, reading, crocheting, cooking, flower gardening but more importantly, spending time with her family. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Petersville United Methodist Church, 2781 N. 500 E. Columbus, IN 47203 with Rev. Beverly Perry officiating. Calling will be from 4 p.m. until service time at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Petersville United Methodist Church and Reading is Fundamental. Survivors include her, son, Kenneth (Lori) Hedrick of Columbus, IN; daughter, Brenda (Mark W.) Hamilton of Columbus, IN; a brother, James (Libby) Golob of Greenfield, IN; sisters, Sondra Poe of Indianapolis, IN, Betty (Jack) Belschwender of Indianapolis, IN, Mary (Mike) Harms of Shelbyville, IN and Connie Purcell of Shelbyville, IN; grandchildren, James (Kortnee) Arthur, Ramanda (Kevin) Kinnick, Daniel (Rachel) Arthur, Heather (Aaron) Hamilton, Brandon (Abby) Hedrick and Caroline (Bryan) Hedrick; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Arthur, Victoria Arthur, John Arthur, Chesney Kinnick, Nathan Kinnick, Brayden Bunch, Charlie Carnahan, Jacklyn Bunch, Grayson Bunch and Laityn Arthur. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Winnifred Golob; her husband, Charles Hedrick, February 28, 2004; daughter, Sheryl Louis Arthur, November 30, 2021; brothers, Robert “Bud” Golob Jr. and Clyde Golob; sisters, Dottie Sue Golob, Donna Hooser and Alice Jane Goddard; step-mother, Rosemary Golob.
