McClintic died November 27, 2017, with his family by his side in Columbus, Indiana. He was 76 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, https://www.crh.org/service-centers/hospice/donate or the American Lung Association, http://www.lung.org/ Charles was born on his father’s birthday, November 1, 1941, in Columbus, Indiana, to Thomas and Dona McClintic. Thomas was a hard working family man and, with Dona by his side, they focused on raising their seven children. In the McClintic family, daughter Jean was the eldest, followed by Louise and then the three boys marched in: Don, Noel and Charles. The McClintic Family was finally blessed with baby sisters, Janice and Barbara. Charles graduated from Columbus High School in the spring of 1959. After graduating, Charles proudly joined the United States Navy where he served as a sonar technician until December 1962. He felt honored and privileged to serve our Country. After his service, Charles was employed by Cummins Engine Company from 1962 until he retired in 1995. After the Navy, Charles married Patricia L (Hazelwood) McClintic on January 20, 1968. The happy couple would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this coming January. He had a daughter, Teresa (Ron) Arnholt and a son, Charles Thomas (Sandra) McClintic. Charles, a family man, also had interests which included the outdoors. His favorite pastime was trying to fish for trophy Walleye and pike in Canada; the largest fish always seemed to be just outside of his net, but he always had a blast nevertheless. He was also a fan of hunting wild mushrooms in the springtime. Charles also was eager to provide food for everyone and we all will forever miss hearing him ask, "Do you want some chili?”. Charles was preceded in death by his mother and father, Thomas and Dona McClintic; sister, Jean (McClintic) Walker; and brother Noel McClintic. Along with his wife, Pat, and two children, Teresa (Ron) Arnholt and Tom (Sandra) McClintic, he is survived by siblings, Louise (Dale) Long, Don McClintic, Janice (Eugene) Griggs, and Barbara (Ron) Dycus; as well as a large extended family. Charles also was blessed with his grandchildren Shane (Amanda) Rice and Kara Rice, Blake, Nolan, Quinn and Hudson McClintic; and great grandchildren, Emma and Parker Rice. This Man will truly be missed.
