Ann Kinderman

Ann Kinderman, a woman whose gentle spirit touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, in Columbus, Indiana, concluding a journey that began on June 10, 1946, in Buffalo, New York. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Ann was known for her unwavering kindness and generosity. She now joins her beloved husband, Joseph “Joe” Kinderman, her devoted parents, James and Helen Ryan, and her dear brother, Patrick Ryan, in eternal rest. Ann was a licensed beautician, but her talents extended far beyond the beauty salon; she was also an expert seamstress, creating everything from altar linens to vibrant flags and banners with meticulous care and artistry. Her passion for sewing paralleled her prowess as a bowler, where she defeated a professional bowler. Anchored by a deep faith, Ann was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. She led numerous Bible studies, served as a Stonecroft Bible group guide, and coordinated spiritual retreats. Her commitment to her faith extended to her role as a Stephen’s Minister, the chairwoman of the Christian Women's Club, and a prayer connection leader, where her compassion and wisdom were sources of comfort. Ann's life was spent as a military wife. She and Joe traveled the world, in England, The Netherlands, Germany, and seven bases in the US. She cherished the times spent with family traveling across Europe and the United States. Ann and Joe loved to entertain and demonstrated hospitality countless times over the years. They loved to try new recipes and were great cooks together. Never one to complain, Ann’s smile was her trademark. She readily defused any situation with humor and grace. Her ‘girl trips’ were a source of joy and lifelong memories. Ann leaves behind a legacy of love in her daughter, Michelle Kinderman; grandson, Jesse (Lovely) Smith; great-grandson, Syre Smith; sister, Kathleen Tiburzi-Ashe; nephew, Nickolas Kinderman; nieces, Kristie Schlossin and Alicia Tiburizi; and sister-in-law, Helen Kinderman. Ann’s life, rich with caring connections, will remain a beacon of light to all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and she will be profoundly missed by family and friends alike who remember her kindness and servant’s heart. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Noon in St. Peters Lutheran Church with Pastor Tim Carter officiating with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Ann will be laid to rest with Joe at a later date in the Crown Hill National Cemetery.
